The International Seminar on Autism Malaysia 2014 (ISAM 2014) was the largest event of its kind in Malaysia and was held on 23rd & 24th April 2014 at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). This Seminar has made into the Malaysia Book of Records for the largest participation in an international seminar on autism.

“Focusing on quality intervention for autistic children, the seminar is attended by over 1,000 participants from 35 countries, including first ladies of Sudan, Sri Lanka, Kyrgyz Republic, Albania and Morocco”-The Star

World known leading autism experts were invited to give input and shared their knowledge and thoughts about autism. Apart from international speakers, local speakers were also invited. Participants included teachers, professionals, government officers, service providers, academician, students and parents.

The topics in ISAM2014 include autism screening and diagnosis, epidemiology and characteristics of children with autism, various types of children intervention and training issues for parents and professionals particularly in the field of education and health.

The purpose of this seminar being scheduled was to enhance awareness on Autism, provide a forum to deliberate current issues on autism, establish a network cooperation between relevant Government agencies, professionals, academia and NGOs and to empower parents, families and communities for effective support systems.
