About PERMATA Kurnia
PERMATA Kurnia is part of the PERMATA programme initiated by YABhg. Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor. The PERMATA programme is a multi-pronged approach aimed at giving children a head start in life through quality early childhood education and care, as well as identifying and nurturing their different talents to the optimum potential. In line with the Convention on the Rights of a Child, we view all children as precious and no child should be left behind, especially in education.
“Research has shown that the earlier we provide children with intervention the better the outcome will be. We have an ‘Early Intervention’ programme for young children with autism. We will assess them to see what are their strengths and needs and construct an individual education plan for each child.”
“The challenges are many—not only physically but mentally. Parents have to be equipped to raise their children with autism because every day is a challenge and we will face different challenges as our children grow.”
“My son started showing signs of ASD when he was two-and-a-half years old. At first I thought that I need to teach my autistic son to understand the world but actually I need to teach the world to understand my autistic son.”
